HEAD START - PROVIDES A COMPREHENSIVE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FOR PRESCHOOL CHILDREN, SUBSTANTIALLY ALL OF WHOM COME FROM LOW-INCOME FAMILIES.ENROLLED CHILDREN RECEIVED SCREENINGS INCLUDING DEVELOPMENTAL, SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL STATUS, HEARING, VISION, COMMUNICATION SKILLS, NURTITIONAL STATUS AND BLOOD LEAD LEVEL SCREENINGS. THE ORGANIZATION HAS HEAD START CENTERS IN CEDAR, CLINTON, MUSCATINE AND SCOTT COUNTIES. EARLY HEAD START SERVICES ARE PROVIDED TO PREGNANT WOMEN, AND FAMILIES WITH INFANTS AND TODDLERS.
LOW INCOME HOME ENERGY ASSISTANCE - PROVIDES ASSISTANCE TO QUALIFYING LOW-INCOME HOUSEHOLDS IN PAYING THEIR HEATING COSTS. DURING THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING OCTOBER 31, 2021, 8,268 HOUSEHOLDS/INDIVIDUALS RECEIVED ASSISTANCE.
CHILD CARE RESOURCE AND REFERRAL - PROVIDED CHILD-CARE RELATED ASSISTANCE TO QUALIFYING LOW-INCOME PARTICIPANTS.
