ENERGY ASSISTANCE: CAASTLC HAS A NUMBER OF ENERGY SERVICES PROGRAMS DESIGNED TO ALLEVIATE THE IMMEDIATE THREAT OF UTILITY SERVICE DISCONNECTION (I.E., ELECTRICITY, GAS, PROPANE, OR HEATING OIL) AND ASSIST RESIDENTS IN GETTING UTILITY SERVICE RESTORED TO THEIR HOMES. THESE PROGRAMS INCLUDE: LIHEAP (LOW INCOME HOME ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM), WINTER HEATING ASSISTANCE, AND SUMMER COOLING ASSISTANCE. IN FISCAL YEAR 2021, 6,037 HOUSEHOLDS WERE ASSISTED.
WEATHERIZATION: THE WEATHERIZATION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO REDUCE THE IMPACT OF HIGH HOME ENERGY COSTS FOR INCOME ELIGIBLE RESIDENTS BY IMPLEMENTING ENERGY-EFFICIENT MEASURES THAT MAY INCLUDE REDUCING AIR INFILTRATION, INSTALLING INSULATION, HEATING SYSTEM REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT, AND AIR QUALITY ASSESSMENT. SPONSORED AND REGULATED BY THE MISSOURI DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, 147 HOMES WERE WEATHERIZED DURING FISCAL YEAR 2021.
COMMUNITY SERVICES: COMMUNITY PROGRAMMING COVERS A VARIETY OF SERVICES INCLUDING: FAMILY AND ECONOMIC SECURITY - FAMILY CASE MANAGEMENT, DRUG & ALCOHOL EDUCATION, ANGER MANAGEMENT, EMPLOYMENT DEVELOPMENT, LIFE SKILLS, REENTRY SUPPORT FOR RETURNING CITIZENS; YOUTH SERVICES - YOUTH CASE MANAGEMENT, HIGH SCHOOL EQUIVALENCY TEST (HISET), AND REALITY ENRICHMENT AND LIFE LESSONS (REALL); COMMUNITY OUTREACH - POVERTY SIMULATIONS, JOB FAIRS & HIRING EVENTS, AND STEP UP TO LEADERSHIP; (CONTINUED IN SCHEDULE O)HEALTH & NUTRITION - DRIVE-THROUGH FOOD PANTRY AND COMMUNITY SUPPORTED AGRICULTURE.IN FISCAL YEAR 2021, COMMUNITY SERVICES PROGRAM ASSISTED 2,358 FAMILIES AND A TOTAL OF 4,538 INDIVIDUALS.
