Part 3 - Line 4a

BECAUSE OUR WORK FOCUSES HEAVILY ON YOUTH LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT AND ADVOCACY, WE BELIEVE IN ENSURING YOUNG PEOPLE ARE PREPARED TO TACKLE THE ISSUES THAT ARE IMPACTING THEIR LIVES. DEEDS SUPPORTS AND DEVELOPS YOUNG PEOPLE IN AREAS SUCH AS LEARNING HOW TO TALK ABOUT CRITICAL ISSUES IMPACTING THEIR COMMUNITIES, HOW TO CREATE SOLUTIONS FOR SAID ISSUES, AND HOW TO IMPLEMENT A SOLUTION THROUGH OUR PROGRAMS. THIS PROCESS DOESNT ONLY HELP ADDRESS ISSUES HAPPENING IN LOCAL COMMUNITIES OR STATEWIDE, BUT IT PROVIDES A DEEP INVESTMENT IN HOW A YOUNG PERSON CAN BUILD THE LEADERSHIP SKILLS AND FORM DEEPER CONNECTIONS BETWEEN THE POLICY GAPS WE KNOW EXIST AND IMPACT YOUNG PEOPLE EVERYDAY. OUR VISION IS TO ENSURE THAT WE ARE EQUIPPING YOUNG PEOPLE TO CREATE THE CHANGE THEY KNOW THEY DESERVE AND NEED LOCALLY AND THE PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO ENSURE STUDENTS LEARN HOW TO EFFECTIVELY COLLABORATE WHICH WE KNOW ARE CORNERSTONES TO BUILDING POWER. WHILE WE RECOGNIZE THAT ENGAGING IN VOTER REGISTRATION WORK IS IMPORTANT, WE ALSO PLACE A BIG EMPHASIS ON TURNOUT AND ENSURING YOUNG PEOPLE FEEL EMPOWERED AT THE BALLOT BOX BY HAVING THE RIGHT INFORMATION ON HOW & WHERE TO VOTE, QUALIFYING PHOTO ID DOCUMENTATION AND MATERIALS NEEDED TO MAKE AN INFORMED DECISION.
