WE CONDUCTED RESEARCH AND CONVENED EVENTS, BRIEFINGS, INDIVIDUAL AND SMALL GROUP MEETINGS, AND INTERVIEWS WITH PHILANTHROPISTS, NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS, AND CIVIC LEADERS TO EDUCATE AND INFORM THESE STAKEHOLDERS ON THE CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR IMPACTING SOCIAL CHANGE AND CIVIC ENGAGEMENT IN ARKANSAS; AND TO GET INPUT FROM THESE STAKEHOLDERS.
WE INITIATED PROGRAMS AND PROVIDED GRANTS TO NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS TO FILL GAPS IN CIVIC-ENGAGEMENT INFRASTRUCTURE AND TO ADVANCE SOCIAL CHANGE.
WE ALSO INITIATED PROGRAMS, INCLUDING CONVENING CIVIC LEADERS AND LEADERS FROM OTHER NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS TO FORM STRATEGIES FOR INCREASING CIVIC ENGAGEMENT IN COMMUNITIES HISTORICALLY LEFT OUT OF THE CIVIC PROCESS AND TO EDUCATE SUCH CITIZENS ABOUT THEIR VOTING RIGHTS.
