MISSISSIPPI VOTES CONDUCTS VOTER ENGAGEMENT ACTIVITIES SUCH AS FIRST TIME VOTER SEMINARS, VOTER REGISTRATION, AND GET-OUT-THE-VOTE DRIVES IN A NONPARTISAN, UNBIASED MANNER WITHOUT REFERENCE TO ANY PARTICULAR CANDIDATE OR POLITICAL PARTY. IT IS AN ORGANIZATION OF INTERGENERATIONAL SYNERGY CENTERED ON YOUNG PEOPLE INVESTED IN MISSISSIPPI'S PROGRESSION. THE MISSION IS ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH ESTABLISHED PROGRAMMING AND OUTREACH STRATEGIES THAT EMPOWER YOUNG PEOPLE, ENCOURAGE CIVIC ENGAGEMENT, AND EDUCATE COMMUNITIES ON VOTING RIGHTS THROUGH PLACE-BASED GRASSROOTS ORGANIZING. VOTER SERVICES INCLUDE VOTER SUFFRAGE CURRICULUM, VOTER EDUCATION, AND ASSISTANCE WITH ELECTION PROTECTION ON ELECTION DAY, CONTINUATION OF VOTER REGISTRATION CAMPAIGN, UP2US THAT STARTED IN PRIOR YEAR. DUE TO COVID, THERE WAS A SUBSTANTIAL SHIFT OF FOCUS TO DIGITAL AND MAIL ENGAGEMENT WITH VOTERS AND POTENTIAL VOTERS. DIRECT MAIL, DIGITAL ADVERTISEMENT, LIVE CALLS, PREDICTIVE DIALER, PEER-TO-PEER TEXT MESSAGING WERE SIGNIFICANT TACTICS USED TO ENGAGE MISSISSIPPIANS. TARGETED UNIVERSES FOR 2020 WERE SELECT HOUSEHOLDS OF PRESIDENTIAL-ONLY VOTERS 65 YEARS AND OLDER, YOUNG PEOPLE AGES 18-35, AND INFREQUENT VOTERS. OVER 160,000 PIECES OF DIRECT MAIL WERE SENT OUT TO THESE GROUPS IN 2020. DIGITAL ADS PLAYED ALMOST 650,000 TIMES, AND NEARLY 178,000 CALLS WERE MADE THROUGH THE LIVE CAMPAIGN. OVER 22,000 CALLS WERE MADE USING THE PREDICTIVE DIALER TOOL, AND OVER 900,000 TEXT MESSAGES WERE SENT OUT DURING THE 2020 ELECTION CYCLE. ANOTHER DIGITAL TOOL USED THIS YEAR WAS BALLOT READY, WHICH ALLOWS REGISTERED VOTERS TO USE AND DEVELOP A VOTER GUIDE: RESEARCH THE BALLOT, FIND OUT HOW TO VOTE, CHECK REGISTRATION, GET INVOLVED, AND REQUEST A BALLOT.
