CIVIC ENGAGEMENT: THE DEANE FOUNDATION PARTNERED WITH BRITEHEART TO PRODUCE 21 EVENTS FOCUSED ON VOTER REGISTRATION AND VOTER TURNOUT. THE EVENTS ENGAGED 4,755 PARTICIPANTS.
RURAL COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT: THE DEANE FOUNDATION SPENT SIGNIFICANT TIME RESEARCHING THE CURRENT STATE OF TENNESSEE RURAL COMMUNITIES. CONCLUSIONS REACHED WERE THAT RURAL COMMUNITIES ARE NON-COMPETITIVE, HAVE SEVERE ECONOMIC DISTRESS, AND WILL REQUIRE REGIONAL SOLUTIONS AND MODERNIZATION OF INFRASTRUCTURE.
SOCIAL JUSTICE: THE DEANE FOUNDATION WORKED WITH FAITH-LED AND ACADEMIC INSTITUTIONS TO HELP HEAL LASTING RACIAL WOUNDS. EVENTS INCLUDED A SILENT MARCH ENTITLED "WALK IN LOVE", A PILGRIMAGE TO EJI IN MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA, AND PARTNERING WITH ONE VOICE NASHVILLE VIA THE 2018 BIG PAYBACK.
