CIVIC ENGAGEMENT - VCET PROVIDES TOOLS AND RESOURCES TO ITS PARTNERS AND TO THE RESIDENTS OF THE COMMONWEALTH TO ENGAGE MORE OFTEN AND MORE EFFECTIVELY WITH THEIR GOVERNMENT. THE VIRGINIA CIVIC ENGAGEMENT TABLE ALSO CONDUCTS ELECTION PROTECTION WORK WHICH IS BUILT AROUND ENSURING ALL VIRGINIANS HAVE EQUITABLE ACCESS TO THE BALLOT AND CAN CAST THEIR VOTES SAFELY AND WITHOUT CONFUSION OR INTIMIDATION.


VIRGINIA PROGRESSIVE LEADERSHIP PROGRAM - THE VAPLP IS A YEAR-LONG PROGRAM DESIGNED TO IDENTIFY AND DEVELOP EMERGING, DIVERSE LEADERS IN VIRGINIA. AT THE CORE OF THE PROGRAM IS A COMMITMENT TO CREATING A PROGRESSIVE LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT MODEL THAT WORKS TO ADDRESS STRUCTURAL AND RACIAL INEQUITIES. THE CURRICULUM INCLUDES TRAINING ON FUNDRAISING, STORY TELLING, BOARD DEVELOPMENT, COMMUNITY ORGANIZING AND RELATIONSHIP BUILDING.
