VOTER EDUCATION: PROVIDES NONPARTISAN CIVIC AND VOTER EDUCATION THROUGH ITS WEBSITE, SOCIAL MEDIA, EMAIL, TEXT MESSAGES, IN-SCHOOL AND IN-PERSON ACTIVATIONS THAT TARGET YOUNG PEOPLE. ROCK THE VOTE PROVIDES STEP-BY-STEP GUIDANCE WITH LINKS TO RESOURCES TO NEW VOTERS THROUGH TEXT/EMAIL. THROUGH ITS DEMOCRACY CLASS INITIATIVE, ROCK THE VOTE OFFERS FREE, ONE-PERIOD LESSON PLANS FOR HIGH SCHOOL-AGE STUDENTS TO LEARN ABOUT THE HISTORY AND IMPORTANCE OF VOTING, THE IMPORTANCE OF LOCAL ELECTIONS, VOTING RIGHTS, AND AN ISSUE IMPACTING THE LOCAL COMMUNITY WHILE ALSO LEARNING THE PROCESS TO REGISTER AND PRE-REGISTER TO VOTE. IN 2021, ROCK THE VOTE LAUNCHED DEMOCRACY CLASS ATLANTA, A PILOT IN PARTNERSHIP WITH ATLANTA PUBLIC SCHOOLS, ATLANTA FALCONS, AND ATLANTA UNITED TO TEACH THE HISTORY OF VOTING AND THE IMPORTANCE OF STATE AND LOCAL ELECTIONS TO 2,500 STUDENTS ALL 11TH AND 12TH GRADE PUBLIC STUDENTS. THE EFFORT INCLUDED A 10-MEMBER STUDENT ADVISORY COUNCIL AND DEMOCRACY-THEMED EVENT HELD ON NATIONAL VOTER REGISTRATION DAY. IN ADDITION, ROCK THE VOTE CREATED A CENTRALIZED HUB ON ITS WEBSITE FOR DEMOCRACY EXPLAINERS AND PRODUCED EXPLAINER VIDEOS. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO PRODUCED MORE THAN 10 VIRTUAL VOTER EDUCATION SESSIONS AND CREATED A VOTER EDUCATION VIDEO.
VOTING RIGHTS & SYSTEMS MODERNIZATION: REDUCES BARRIERS BY FIGHTING FOR YOUNG PEOPLE'S RIGHT TO VOTE AND MODERNIZING THE PROCESS TO PARTICIPATE. ROCK THE VOTE TRACKS A DOZEN POLICIES THAT IMPACT YOUNG PEOPLE'S ACCESS TO VOTING AND ASSIGNS STATE REPORT CARDS. IN ADDITION, ROCK THE VOTE DEVELOPS AND PROVIDES CIVIC TECHNOLOGY TO NONPROFITS, SCHOOLS, COMPANIES, AND INFLUENCERS TO REGISTER AND EDUCATE VOTERS THROUGH COST-EFFECTIVE DIGITAL PLATFORMS. ROCK THE VOTE ALSO UTILIZES THIS TECHNOLOGY IN ITS OWN PROGRAMMING. IN 2021, ROCK THE VOTE PROMOTED THE MODERNIZATION OF VOTER REGISTRATION PLATFORMS THROUGH THE CREATION OF EDUCATIONAL AND MARKETING MATERIALS AND OUTREACH TO STATES TO PROMOTE CONNECTED VOTER REGISTRATION. IN ADDITION, THE ORGANIZATION, PRODUCED A DETAILED MEMO TO THE WHITE HOUSE AND GENERAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATION IN RESPONSE TO THE PRESIDENT'S EXECUTIVE ORDER TO PROMOTE VOTER ACCESS. ROCK THE VOTE ALSO TESTED DATA COLLECTION FOR SELECT LOCAL ELECTIONS FOR ITS BALLOT LOOK-UP AND ENDORSEMENT TOOL. FURTHERMORE, ROCK THE VOTE LAUNCHED AN EDUCATIONAL CAMPAIGN AROUND THE FREEDOM TO VOTE ACT AND JOHN LEWIS VOTING RIGHTS ADVANCEMENT ACT. THE CAMPAIGN MOBILIZED MORE THAN 30 ORGANIZATIONS, INCLUDING SEVERAL PROFESSIONAL SPORTS ASSOCIATIONS, AND INCLUDED DIRECT OUTREACH TO MORE THAN 215,000 VOTERS.
VOTER REGISTRATION & MOBILIZATION: CREATING A CULTURE SHIFT BY REACHING YOUNG PEOPLE WHERE THEY ARE - ON AND OFFLINE - THROUGH TRUSTED MESSENGERS WITH MESSAGES THAT INSPIRE AND INFORMATION THAT EMPOWERS THEM TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CIVIC PROCESS. WITH RESEARCH DEMONSTRATING THE IMPORTANCE OF SOCIAL MEDIA TO REACHING AND MOBILIZING YOUNG VOTERS, ESPECIALLY YOUTH OF COLOR, ROCK THE VOTE CREATES AND PROMOTES RESEARCH-BASED ORIGINAL CONTENT ON ITS OWN SOCIAL MEDIA AND DIGITAL PLATFORMS. IN ADDITION, ROCK THE VOTE COLLABORATES WITH AND ADVISES YOUTH BRANDS, MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT COMPANIES, TECHNOLOGY COMPANIES, AND TRUSTED MESSENGERS TO PROMOTE AND CELEBRATE CIVIC ENGAGEMENT. IN 2021, ROCK THE VOTE EXPANDED ITS ELECTION REMINDERS PROGRAM TO SEND ALERTS FOR ELECTIONS IN THE 500 MOST POPULATED CITIES AND OVERLAPPING COUNTIES AS WELL AS SEVEN SPECIAL ELECTIONS, STATE ELECTIONS IN VIRGINIA AND NEW JERSEY AND THE CALIFORNIA GUBERNATORIAL RECALL ELECTION. MORE THAN 40,000 VOTERS WERE DIRECTLY CONTACT VIA PEER-TO-PEER TEXTING.
