IS TO PROVIDE A MULTI-CULTURAL MARKET FOR ENTREPRENEURS IN A DIVERSE WELCOMING ATMOSPHERE, TO BRING TOGETHER MINORITIES IN THE COMMUNITY AND ALLOW SMALL BUSINESSES THE OPPORTUNITY TO PROMOTE AND GROW THEIR BUSINESSES, AND TO PROMOTE A PRIMARILY MINORITY NEIGHBORHOOD.

MERCADO ON 5TH CREATES AND SPONSORS MARKETS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR TO IMPACT AND IMPROVE THE LIVES OF HUNDREDS OF FAMILIES IN THE PREDOMINATELY HISPANIC FLORECIENTE NEIGHBORHOOD OF MOLINE ILLINOIS. OUR SMALL BUSINESS INITIATIVES HELP ESTABLISH AND LICENSE VENDORS TO ACHIEVE EITHER THEIR STATE OF ILLINOIS FOOD CERTIFICATION OR THEIR CITY OF MOLINE LICENSING. PROVIDING A PLACE FOR THE COMMUNITY TO COME TOGETHER WITH SMALL BUSINESSES FOR SHOPPING, MUSIC, FOOD, AND CULTURE. SCHOLARSHIPS AND GRANTS WERE ALSO AWARDED TO SMALL BUSINESSES FOR STARTUP MICRO-BUSINESS LOANS WITH A PARTNERSHIP OF THE USBDA UNITED STATES SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AGENCY AND WESTERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY.
