CERTIFICATION IMPLEMENTATION, MAINTENANCE AND GROWTHLEADING HARVEST WAS INITIALLY FOUNDED WITH THE GOAL OF LEADING THE CREATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF AN ALL-ENCOMPASSING SUSTAINABLE FARMING MANAGEMENT CERTIFICATION PLATFORM WITHIN THE UNITED STATES. AN INAUGURAL ALL-CROPLAND STANDARD WAS CREATED AND FINALIZED IN THE FORM OF THE LEADING HARVEST FARMLAND MANGMENT PROGRAM. ESTABLISHED IN 2020, THE ORGANIZATION QUICKLY WENT TO WORK ENROLLING PARTICIPANTS AND ASSISTING THEM WITH ESTABLISHING A RELATIONSHIP WITH A THIRD-PARTY WHO WOULD VERIFY CONFORMANCE TO THE STANDARD IN THEIR OWN AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION. THERE ARE CURRENTLY 15 ENROLLED PARTICIPANTS THAT REPRESENT HUNDREDS OF INDIVIDUAL FARMS THAT COLLECTIVELY EXCEED 1.3 MILLION ACRES ACROSS 30 STATES OVER 100 DIFFERENT ROW AND PERMANENT CROP TYPES.TO MAINTAIN CERTIFICATION, PARTICIPANTS ARE SUBJECT TO REGULAR SURVEILLANCE AUDITS AND RECERTIFICATION AUDITS. ENROLLMENT AND ACREAGE ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL YEARS.IN ADDITION, LEADING HARVEST COMPLETED TWO PILOT PROGRAMS DESIGNED TO SUPPORT SMALLER LANDOWNERS WITH GAINING ACCESS TO THIRD-PARTY CERTIFICATION AT COMPETITIVE COSTS THROUGH WORKING COLLECTIVELY AND SHARING RESOURCES. THIS BODY OF WORK INCLUDED THE DEVELOPMENT OF TARGETED AND TAILORED EDUCATION MATERIALS TO ENSURE THAT LEADING HARVEST CAN BE OPERATIONALIZED WITHIN SPECIFIC CROPS AND SPECIFIC REGIONS. THE PILOT PROGRAM REACHED OVER 50,000 ACRES FROM NINE FARMING OPERATIONS.
