ACQUISITION OF CONSERVATION EASEMENTS AND WETLAND PROPERTY. THIS PROGRAM ALSO INCLUDES PURCHASING PROPERTIES WITH FUNDING FROM DEVELOPERS PAID TO THE TRUST VIA THE IN-LIEU FEE AGREEMENT WITH THE ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS.
CONSERVATION OF SOUTHCENTRAL ALASKA'S HABITAT AND ACCESS TO PUBLIC LANDS. GLT HAS COMPLETED 63 PROJECTS AND CONSERVED OVER 56,000 ACRES OF LAND SINCE IT WAS FOUNDED IN 1995. CONSERVATION ACTIVITIES INCLUDE ALL MAPPING AND PRIORITIZATION WORK, LANDOWNER OUTREACH AND COMMUNICATION, PROJECT DEVELOPMENT, SITE SELECTION, SITE VISITS, DUE DILIGENCE ACTIVITIES, REPORT PREPARATION, AND LANDOWNER NEGOTIATIONS.
STEWARDSHIP AND ANNUAL MONITORING OF ALL CONSERVATION EASEMENTS CURRENTLY HELD BY THE GREAT LAND TRUST INCLUDING MEETING WITH LANDOWNERS. ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES INCLUDE MANAGEMENT OF THE PROPERTY GLT HOLDS IN FEE.
