SCIENCE - 1) ENGAGEMENT WITH THE SCIENCE COMMUNITY IN SUPPORT OF BOREAL FOREST CONSERVATION; 2) DEVELOPMENT OF REPORTS AND OTHER MATERIALS TO DEMONSTRATE THE IMPORTANCE OF CANADA'S BOREAL FOREST AND APPROACHES TO CONSERVING IT.


COMMUNICATIONS: EXPANDED MEDIA COVERAGE OF CANADA'S BOREAL FOREST INCLUDING OP-EDS; NEWSPAPER, MAGAZINE, AND JOURNAL ARTICLES; BROADCAST MEDIA; AND SOCIAL MEDIA. THEMES COVERED INCLUDE THE BENEFITS OF INDIGENOUS-LED CONSERVATION, WITH AN EMPHASIS ON INDIGENOUS PROTECTED AND CONSERVED AREAS AND INDIGENOUS GUARDIANS; THE NEED FOR CONSERVING CANADA'S BIOLOGICAL DIVERSITY, ESPECIALLY WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF THE CONVENTION ON BIOLOGICAL DIVERSITY; AND THE NEED FOR MINING REFORM, FOCUSED ON BRITISH COLUMBIA.
