THE MISSION OF NWGA IS TO SERVE AS THE SPOKESPERSON FOR THE NORTHWESTS GROCERY INDUSTRY BY PROMOTING THE COMMON INTERESTS AND ISSUES OF ITS MEMBERSHIP BY PROVIDING CURRENT COMMUNICATIONS, LEADERSHIP AND MEMBER SERVICES.

THE ASSOCIATION PROVIDES EDUCATION TO ITS MEMBERS BY WAY OF CONFERENCE CALLS, WEBINARS, EMAIL, AND LEGISLATIVE UPDATE REPORTS. A TRI LEGISLATIVE REPORT IS PREPARED ANNUALLY AND E-MAILED TO MEMBERS. ON OCCASION WE HOLD SEMINARS TO GIVE IN-DEPTH EXPLANATION OF LEGISLATIVE ISSUES AFFECTING THE INDUSTRY IN THEIR STATES AND CITIES.
REPRESENTATION BEFORE STATE LEGISLATURES AND CITY OFFICIALS RELATED TO LEGISLATIVE ISSUES AFFECTING THE INDUSRY IN THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST. EXAMPLES OF LEGISLATION INCLUDE MINIMUM WAGE AND SALES TAX REPEAL IN IDAHO, LABOR ISSUES, RECYCLING ISSUES AND RETAIL PHARMACY CONTRACEPTIVE SERVICES IN WASHINGTON, AND MINIMUM WAGE, PREDICTIVE SCHEDULING, EQUAL PAY, AND CONTINUED BOTTLE BILL PREPARATION IN OREGON.
PROMOTE RETAILER PARTICIPATION IN NEW BOTTLE DROP RECYCLING CENTERS AND EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ABOUT THE NEW RECYCLING CENTERS.
