THE MISSION OF THE COTTONWOOD CANYONS FOUNDATION IS SUPPORTING THE ENVIRONMENT OF THE COTTONWOOD CANYONS THROUGH STEWARDSHIP AND EDUCATION.

Part 3 - Line 4a

TRAIL STEWARDSHIP PROGRAM IN MILLCREEK CANYON, BIG COTTONWOOD CANYON AND LITTLE COTTONWOOD CANYON IN PROTECTING LAND AREAS. PROGRAM MAINTAINS AND DEVELOPS RECREATIONAL TRAIL SYSTEMS.


YOUTH AND ADULT EDUCATION PROGRAMS IN THE COTTONWOOD CANYONS AND SALT LAKE AREA. OPERATIONS AT SILVER LAKE VISITORS CENTER ARE CONDUCTED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE USDA FOREST SERVICE TO PROVIDE PUBLIC INFORMATION AND NATURALIST INTERPRETIVE EDUCATION PROGRAMS. SILVER LAKE OFFERS SCHOOL AND OTHER GROUP FIELD TRIPS IN THE FALL. SNOWSHOE FIELD TRIPS ARE PROVIDED FOR SCHOOLS IN THE WINTER. GUIDED EDUCATIONAL SKI TOURS ARE GIVEN TO THE PUBLIC IN THE WINTER IN BOTH COTTONWOOD CANYONS.


WEED STEWARDSHIP PROGRAM IN MILLCREEK CANYON, BIG COTTONWOOD CANYON, AND LITTLE COTTONWOOD CANYON IN PROTECTED LAND AREAS. THIS PROGRAM MAPS, LOCATES, AND TREATS INVASIVE WEED POPULATIONS, COLLECTS NATIVE SEEDS, AND REHABILITATES HABITAT FOR REVEGETATION WITH NATIVE PLANTS.
