BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL. THE BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL PROGRAM PROVIDES A SAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR CHILDREN TO INTERACT WITH THEIR PEERS TO ENHANCE THEIR COMMUNICATION SKILLS AND LEARN TO WORK AS A TEAM DURING THESE TIMES WHEN CHILDHOOD OBESITY IS A LARGE CONCERN, THE FLOYDS KNOBS COMMUNITY CLUB PROVIDES ACTIVITIES THROUGH THE BASEBALL/SOFTBALL LEAGUE FOR CHILDREN TO GET REGULAR EXERCISE AND PROMOTE HEALTHY LIFESTYLES DURING THE SEASON, EACH CHILD WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO GET VALUABLE EXERCISE WHILE AT THE SAME TIME LEARN TO WORK TOGETHER AS A TEAM AND TO FOLLOW INSTRUCTION FROM THEIR COACHES. THE LEAGUE ALSO PROVIDES EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES TO YOUTHS IN THE FORM OF UMPIRES. THE YOUTHS WILL ENHANCE THEIR LEADERSHIP SKILLS BY BEING IN A POSITION OF AUTHORITY OVER GROUPS OF CHILDREN OF DIFFERENT AGE AND MATURITY LEVELS. THE YOUTH UMPIRES GAIN LEADERSHIP AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS AS A RESULT.
