"PUBLIC HEALTH SEATTLE KING COUNTY (PHSKC)-US EPA DUWAMISH SEAFOOD CONSUMPTION PROGRAM": EPA HAS DEVELOPED A PROGRAM THROUGH A 5-YEAR COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH PUBLIC HEALTH SEATTLE & KING COUNTY(PHSKC) TO CONFRONT THE LONG-STANDING ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE ISSUES ASSOCIATED WITH PEOPLE WHO CONSUME CONTAMINATED SEAFOOD CAUGHT FROM LOWER DUWAMISH RIVER SUPERFUND SITE IN SEATTLE, WASHINGTON. JUST HEALTH ACTION (JHA)PARTNERED WITH PHSKC WHO IS LEADING A COMMUNITY-BASED PROCESS AND DEVELOPMENT OF LONG-TERM PROGRAM TO PROTECT IMMIGRANT FISHERS. JHA DEVELOPED A CURRICULUM MANUAL AND CONDUCTED TRAININGS FOR FISHER COMMUNITY HEALTH ADVOCATES.

"KING COUNTY WATERWORKS GRANT": BRICKTREE LLC AND JUST HEALTH ACTION (JHA) RECEIVED A GRANT TO DESIGN, SITE AND INSTALL TWO GREEN WALL PROJECTS IN THE DUWAMISH VALLEY OF SEATTLE, WASHINGTON. GREEN WALLS ARE VEGETATED TRELLIS SYSTEMS THAT IMPROVE AIR QUALITY BY FILTERING AIR POLLUTION, A SIGNIFICANT PROBLEM IN THE VALLEY. GREEN WALLS VARY IN SIZE AND DESIGN DEPENDING ON THE SITE'S NEEDS. MOST OF THE PROJECT WILL BE COMPLETED IN 2019.
