NORTH SOUND ACCOUNTABLE COMMUNITY OF HEALTH IS A KEY PARTNER WITH THE WASHINGTON STATE HEALTH CARE AUTHORITY (HCA) IN THE MEDICAID TRANSFORMATION PROJECT, FOCUSED ON IMPROVING HEALTH FOR PEOPLE ON MEDICAID ACROSS THE STATE. THE WORK HAS EVOLVED FROM UNDERSTANDING HEALTH NEEDS ACROSS THE REGION TO BE A PLACE WHERE COLLABORATIVE LEARNING, PLANNING, AND DECISION-MAKING COULD OCCUR ACROSS JURISDICTIONAL BOUNDARIES, AND LOOKING UPSTREAM AS A COLLECTIVE TO ADVANCE EQUITY, WELL-BEING AND A SENSE OF BELONGING.
IN RESPONSE TO THE 2021 FLOODING IN THE REGION, NORTH SOUND ACH EXTENDED THEIR FOCUS TO INCLUDE CRISIS CASE MANAGEMENT TO THOSE IMPACTED BY DISASTERS. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO EXPANDED REGIONALIZED RESOURCES AND REQUESTS FOR EMERGENCY RESPONSE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE, BASIC NEEDS SUPPLIES AND NALOXONE KITS. DURING 2022, THE ORGANIZATION ALSO CONTINUED TO PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING RESOURCES IN RESPONSE TO THE COVID PANDEMIC: ORGANIZATIONAL FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE, VACCINE CLINICS, TESTING SUPPLIES, PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT, AND COVID CARE KITS.
