NUTRITION PROGRAM SERVES A HOT DAILY LUNCH THAT PROVIDES SENIORS WITH AN OPPORTUNITY TO SOCIALIZE WITH OTHERS, ASSISTANCE FOR APPLYING FOR SNAP, FARMER'S MARKET VOUCHER DISTRIBUTION AND A SENIOR FOOD BOX PROGRAM. EXERCISE & BALANCE PROGRAMS INCLUDE BALANCE/FALL ASSESSMENTS THAT STRIVE TO MAKE SENIORS AWARE OF THE DANGERS OF FALLS AND MITIGATE THE DAMAGE WHEN FALLS OCCUR. HEALTH & WELLNESS PROGRAMS INCLUDE ON-SITE FLU & PNEUMONIA VACCINATIONS, REGULAR BLOOD PRESSURE & SUGAR CHECKS, AND HEALTHY EATING CLASSES. SOCIAL & RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES FROM ART/CRAFT CLASSES, SPANISH CLASSES TO CARD GAMES PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR SENIORS TO STAY ACTIVE AND ENGAGED. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES ARE OFFERED FOR SENRIORS TO HELP THE CENTER AND COMMUNITY IN ORDER TO HELP SENIORS FEEL A SENSE OF PURPOSE. EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS KEEP SENIORS INFORMED ABOUT TOPICS THAT CONCERN THEM FROM MEDICARE CHANGES TO CHRONIC DISEASE SEMINARS, ESTATE PLANNING, INSURANCE AND OTHER SENIOR-FOCUSED TOPICS. INFORMATION & ASSISTANCE IS PROVIDED TO SENIORS WHO NEED HELP LOCATING SERVICES, FILLING OUT FORMS, AND IDENTIFYING SCAMS.
