HEAD START AND EARLY HEAD START PROGRAMS: PROGRAMS PROMOTE THE SCHOOL READINESS OF YOUNG CHILDREN FROM LOW-INCOME FAMILIES BY ENHANCING THEIR COGNITIVE, SOCIAL, AND EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT. THE PROGRAMS SUPPORT THE COMPREHENSIVE DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDREN FROM BIRTH TO AGE 5, IN CENTERS, CHILDCARE PARTNER LOCATIONS, AND IN THEIR OWN HOMES, IN A VARIETY OF WAYS. DURING THE YEAR THE ORGANIZATION SERVED APPROXIMATELY 4,362 INDIVIDUALS.
SENIOR COMMUNITY SERVICE EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM (SCSEP): PROGRAM IS A COMMUNITY SERVICE AND WORK-BASED JOB TRAINING PROGRAM FOR OLDER AMERICANS. AUTHORIZED BY THE OLDER AMERICANS ACT, THE PROGRAM PROVIDES TRAINING FOR LOW-INCOME, UNEMPLOYED SENIORS. PARTICIPANTS ALSO HAVE ACCESS TO EMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE THROUGH AMERICAN JOB CENTERS.
