THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OPERATED THE OAKHURST COMMUNITY CENTER FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE RESIDENTS OF OAKHURST AND THE SURROUNDING MOUNTAIN COMMUNITIES. APPROXIMATELY 394 SEPARATE CIVIC, SOCIAL AND CHARITABLE EVENTS WERE HELD THROUGHOUT THE YEAR WITH TOTAL ATTENDANCE OF APPROXIMATELY 17,425 PERSONS. THE COMMUNITY CENTER GROUNDS, INCLUDING ATHLETIC FIELDS, WERE USED ON A REGULAR BASIS FOR LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL AND OTHER ACTIVITIES.
