RESEARCH, DEVELOP, AND ADMINISTER SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS TO MEET THE NEEDS OF INDIAN AND NATIVE AMERICAN COMMUNITIES.

ALL OTHER ACCOMPLISHMENTS - ONE OF THE PRIMARY AND SPECIFIC PURPOSES OF THE NORTHERN CALIFORNIA INDIAN DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL IS THE CONSERVATION AND PRESERVATION OF HISTORIC SITES AND RESOURCES. TO DATE THE LARGEST RESTORATION PROJECT HAS BEEN THE CARSON BLOCK BUILDING, A HISTORICAL LANDMARK IN EUREKA CALIFORNIA. THIS LONG RUNNING HISTORICAL RESTORATION PROJECT HAS BEEN FUNDED BY GRANTS AND OTHER METHODS WITH MULTIPLE PARTNERS OVER THE YEARS. AS PART OF THE FUNDING UNDERTAKEN TO COMPLETE THIS COMPLEX HISTORICAL RENOVATION, NCIDC HAS RECEIVED FUNDING GENERATED BY THE PROJECT AND HAS USED THESE ADDITIONAL FUNDS TO CONTINUE THE RESTORATION.


THE NCIDC CONTRACTS WITH THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY SERVICES & DEVELOPMENT TO PROVIDE CSBG SERVICES TO INDIAN PEOPLE THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA. THE NCIDC'S CURRENT SERVICE AREA INCLUDES 57 COUNTIES AND 109 RESERVATIONS AND RENCHERIAS.


THE NCIDC CONTRACTED WITH THE CALIFORNIA EMPLOYMENT DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT TO PERFORM CLEAN UP AND REPAIRS OF CALIFORNIA PUBLIC AND TRIBAL LAND AND INFRASTRUCTURE DAMAGED BY STORMS AND FIRES IN BUTTE, DEL NORTE, HUMBOLDT, RIVERSIDE, SHASTA, SONOMA, AND SISKIYOU COUNTIES.
