THE MAUI HUB IS A NONPROFIT, COMMUNITY-BASED, ORGANZIATION WHOSE PRIMARY MISSION IS TO PROVIDE LOCAL FRESH AFORDABLE PRODUCE TO MAUI LOW INCOME RESIDENTS, FOOD BANKS, AND COMMUNITY KITCHENS. THIS IS ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH AN ONLINE-BASED FOOD DISTRIBUTION SYTEM WHICH CONNECTS LOCAL FARMERS AND PRODUCERS TO CONSUMERS.CONSUMERS PLACE ORDERS THROUGH THE ONLINE PLATFORM. THE PLATFORM THEN GENERATES PURCHASE ORDERS FOR FARMERS, WHO HARVEST PRODUCE AND MAKE DELIVIRIES TO A CENTRALIZED DISTRIBUTION CENTER. ORDERS ARE THEN PICKED AND PACKED, PLACED IN REFRIIGERATED TRUCKS, AND DRIVEN TO PICK-UP LOCATIONS FOR CUSTOMERS.MAUI HUB WILL SET UP AN EBT POINT OF SALE ACCOUNT TO PROCESS SNAP BENEFITS ENABLING LOW-INCOME FAMILIES TO PURCHASE PRODUCE. MAUI HUB'S FOCUS IS TO REGISTER AND SERVE AS MANY SNAP ELIGIBLE CUSTOMERS AS POSSIBLE.
