THE MISSION OF THE CAROL EMMOTT FOUNDATION IS TO TRANSFORM HEALTH BY ACCELERATING THE ADVANCEMENT AND IMPACT OF WOMEN LEADERS AND THE ACHIEVEMENT OF GENDER EQUITY AND FULLY INCLUSIVE LEADERSHIP AND GOVERNANCE IN OUR HEALTHCARE INSTITUTIONS.

THE FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM RAN A SUCCESSFUL COHORT OF 21 FELLOWS (CEF5) SELECTED FROM LARGE HEALTH INSTITUTIONS ACROSS THE NATION. IN ADDITION, 21 FELLOWS FROM THE PREVIOUS YEARS COHORT (CEF4) CONTINUED AN EXTENDED PROGRAM THROUGH SEPT. 2021 TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL SUPPORT AND TIME TOGETHER DUE TO COVID-19. ALL FELLOWS MET VIRTUALLY FOR FELLOWSHIP CONVERGENCES DURING THE FIRST HALF OF THE YEAR AND IN PERSON FOR TWO FELLOWSHIP CONVERGENCE MEETINGS THAT TOOK PLACE DURING THE LAST HALF OF THE YEAR.
THE EQUITY COLLABORATIVE, A SHARED LEARNING COMMUNITY OF LARGE HEALTH SYSTEMS ACROSS THE NATION FOCUSED ON CREATING GENDER AND RACIAL EQUITY IN HEALTHCARE LEADERSHIP, CONSISTED OF 14 MEMBER ORGANIZATIONS. MEMBER ORGANIZATIONS MET VIRTUALLY FOR FOUR MEETINGS TO CONTINUE THE WORK BEGUN IN 2020 AND SHARE METRICS, UPDATES ON PROGRESS, LEARN FROM EXPERTS IN THE FIELD, AND SPECIFICALLY FOCUS ON LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT THROUGH SPONSORSHIP, WORK-LIFE INTEGRATION, HR POLICIES, AND MODELS TO MOVE TOWARD A CULTURE OF INCLUSION.
