THE MISSION OF THE CAROL EMMOTT FOUNDATION IS TO TRANSFORM HEALTH BY ACCELERATING THE ADVANCEMENT AND IMPACT OF WOMEN LEADERS AND THE ACHIEVEMENT OF GENDER EQUITY AND FULLY INCLUSIVE LEADERSHIP AND GOVERNANCE IN OUR HEALTHCARE INSTITUTIONS.

THE FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM RAN A SUCCESSFUL COHORT OF 21 FELLOWS (CEF7), INCLUDING 3 FOUNDATION-SPONSORED FELLOWS SELECTED FROM LARGE HEALTH INSTITUTIONS ACROSS THE NATION. FELLOWS MET IN PERSON FOR FOUR FELLOWSHIP CONVERGENCES THAT TOOK PLACE QUARTERLY IN ADDITION TO MONTHLY WEBINARS LED BY EXPERTS IN THE FIELD.THE EQUITY COLLABORATIVE, A SHARED LEARNING COMMUNITY OF LARGE HEALTH SYSTEMS ACROSS THE NATION FOCUSED ON CREATING GENDER AND RACIAL EQUITY IN HEALTHCARE LEADERSHIP, ENDED THE YEAR WITH 14 MEMBER ORGANIZATIONS. MEMBER ORGANIZATIONS MET VIRTUALLY FOR TWO MEETINGS AND IN PERSON FOR TWO MEETINGS TO CONTINUE THE WORK FROM PREVIOUS YEARS AND SHARE METRICS, UPDATES ON PROGRESS, LEARN FROM EXPERTS IN THE FIELD, AND SPECIFICALLY FOCUS ON EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT, AVOIDING IMPLICIT BIAS IN AI, AND IMPLEMENTING A BIAS TIMEOUT SYSTEM IN DECISION-MAKING. THE FELLOWSHIP NETWORK GREW TO INCLUDE 115 FELLOWS AND OFFERED CEUS FOR THE FIRST TIME AT THEIR 2023 ANNUAL MEETING IN CHICAGO.
