THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES TRAINING TO ADULTS AND CHILDREN TO HELP REDUCE CASES OF PHYSICAL AND SEXUAL ABUSE. FOR CASES REPORTED TO LAW ENFORCEMENT OR THE DEPT. OF HUMAN SERVICES, THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES NEUTRAL, FORENSICALLY SOUND INTERVIEWS OF THE VICTIM TO ASSIST WITH THE INVESTIGATION, HELP STOP PERPETRATORS, AND HELP SUPPORT THE VICTIMS AND THEIR NONOFFENDING CAREGIVERS.

FORENSIC SERVICES: FOR CASES OF ALLEGED MALTREATMENT (PHYSICAL OR SEXUAL ABUSE, NEGLECT, WITNESS TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, TRAFFICKING, ETC.), OF A CHILD OR DEVELOPMENTALLY-DELAYED ADULT, LAW ENFORCEMENT OR THE DEPT. OF HUMAN SERVICES WILL BRING THE VICTIM TO THE CAC FOR A NEUTRAL FORENSIC INTERVIEW, WHICH THEN BECOMES EVIDENCE IN THE CASE. THE CAC ALSO PROVIDES NON-ACUTE MEDICAL EXAMS FOR THE VICTIM, ADVOCACY AND SUPPORT TO THE NON- OFFENDING CAREGIVERS, AND REFERRALS TO COMMUNITY RESOURCES TO HELP SUPPORT THE RECOVERY OF THE VICTIM AND FAMILY.
SAFETY SMARTS: SAFETY SMARTS IS AN ABUSE PREVENTION TRAINING PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN IN KINDERGARTEN THROUGH 3RD GRADE. IT IS PRIMARILY DELIVERED IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CLASSROOMS, BUT CAN ALSO BE TAUGHT OUTSIDE OF THE CLASSROOM OR DELIVERED VIRTUALLY, THROUGH LIVE-MEETING TOOLS SUCH AS ZOOM OR GOOGLE MEETS. THROUGH FIVE HALF-HOUR LESSONS, STUDENTS ARE GIVEN THE TOOLS TO RECOGNIZE, REFUSE, AND REPORT ATTEMPTS TO ABUSE THEM. CHILDREN BECOME ACTIVE PARTICIPANTS IN THEIR OWN SAFETY AND PREEMPT COMMON GROOMING TACTICS USED BY WOULD-BE PERPETRATORS. AN INNOVATIVE VERSION OF SAFETY SMART IS SPECIALLY DESIGNED FOR CHILDREN ON THE AUTISM SPECTRUM OR THOS WITH SIMILAR LEARNING NEEDS. IN 2022, THE CCAC COLLABORATED WITH FORT COLLINS POLICE TO UPDATE AND DELIVER THEIR INTERNET/ONLINE SAFETY TRAINING FOR PRETEENS, TEENS, AND ADULT CAREGIVERS.
