TO PROVIDE SUPPORT AND ADVOCACY TO SURVIVORS OF SEXUAL ASSAULT AND ABUSE THROUGHOUT CENTRAL NEW MEXICO.

THE COUNSELING PROGRAM OFFERS SHORT-TERM THERAPY TO CLIENTS. THE PROFESSIONAL COUNSELORS PROVIDE SERVICES IN A SUPPORTIVE, RESPECTFUL, SENSITIVE MANNER BASED ON A PHILOSOPHY WHICH EMPHASIZES CLIENT SELF- EMPOWERMENT. COUNSELING SERVICES ARE OFFERED AT NO CHARGE.
STAFF AND VOLUNTEER ADVOCATES ARE AVAILABLE 24 HOURS A DAY, 365 DAYS A YEAR TO PROVIDE IN-PERSON CRISIS INTERVENTION, SUPPORT, ADVOCACY, INFORMATION, AND ACCOMPANIMENT TO THE SEXUAL ASSAULT NURSE EXAMINERS (SANE) PROGRAM, AND LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES. OUR CRISIS INTERVENTION ADVOCATES RESPOND TO SEVERAL THOUSAND CRISIS CALLS ANNUALLY. WE PROVIDE ASSISTANCE TO HUNDREDS OF SURVIVORS AT THE SANE UNIT. VOLUNTEER ADVOCATES RECEIVE A COMPREHENSIVE 40-HOUR TRAINING THAT IS OFFERED TWO TIMES A YEAR AND IS OPEN TO BOTH PROFESSIONALS AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS.
COMMUNITY EDUCATION AND OUTREACH PROVIDES EDUCATION AND TRAINING ON SEXUAL ASSAULT AND OTHER ISSUES THAT AFFECT VIOLENCE IN THE COMMUNITIES SERVED. THE TRAINING PROVIDED SERVES TO ADDRESS THE ROOT CAUSES OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE THROUGH PRIMARY PREVENTION EDUCATION. PRESENTATIONS ARE CUSTOM TAILORED TO MEET THE NEEDS OF SCHOOLS, PROFESSIONAL STAFF, COMMUNITY GROUPS, OTHER SERVICE PROVIDERS, OR ANY OTHER INTERESTED PARTIES.
