Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3

THE MUSIC LESSONS PROJECT PROVIDES OPPORTUNITIES FOR INDIVIDUALIZED MUSIC INSTRUCTION TO STUDENTS WITH LIMITED FINANCIAL RESOURCES AT TITLE I SCHOOLS IN THE SALEM-KEIZER SCHOOL DISTRICT. MLP RETURNED TO IN PERSON LESSONS AFTER THE PREVIOUS YEAR OF ALL ONLINE. WE WERE FLEXIBLE AS SOME INSTRUCTION WAS THE SMALL GROUP MODEL, SOME INDIVIDUAL, AND ONE AS A CLINIC. SCHOOL PROGRAMS HAVE BEGUN REBUILDING. MOST LESSONS BEGAN LATER THAN USUAL BUT WERE EFFECTIVE AND TEACHERS REPORTED SIGNIFICANT SKILLS IMPROVEMENT FOR THE PARTICIPATING 263 STUDENTS. THE PROJECT SUPPORTED 685 LESSON HOURS EQUATING TO 1,087 LESSON SESSIONS AT CLAGGETT CREEK, HOUCK, PARRISH, STEPHENS, AND WALDO MIDDLE SCHOOLS AND AT MCKAY AND NORTH SALEM HIGH SCHOOLS. THIS VOICE, VIOLIN, VIOLA, CELLO, BASS, FLUTE, OBOE, CLARINET, SAX, BASSOON, TRUMPET, AND LOW BRASS INSTRUCTION WAS GIVEN ONSITE FOR STUDENTS ENROLLED IN BAND, ORCHESTRA, AND CHOIR CLASSES. WE RAISED MONEY THIS YEAR TO FUND LESSONS FOR THE 22-23 ACADEMIC YEAR IN THE SEVEN SCHOOLS. THESE FUNDS, ALONG WITH THE CARRYOVER BALANCE FROM 21-22 CAN FUND MORE THAN 1,200 HOURS OF LESSONS ONSITE. WE ARE HOPEFUL THAT MORE THAN 350 STUDENTS WILL HAVE THIS OPPORTUNITY.
