THE YOUNG MUSICIANS FOUNDATIONS (YMF) MISSION IS TO EMPOWER UNDER-SERVED, OFTEN MARGINALIZED STUDENTS TO FIND CREATIVITY, CONNECTION, AND JOY THROUGH ACCESS TO TUITION-FREE MUSIC EDUCATION, PERFORMANCES AND EXPERIENCES.

Part 3 - Line 4a

YMFS SERVICE AREA AND NUMBER OF STUDENTS SERVED GREW TO MORE THAN 5,000 STUDENTS AT 28 SCHOOLS AND SITES ACROSS GREATER LOS ANGELES, AN INCREASE OF MORE THAN 30% OVER THE PRIOR YEAR. PROGRAMMATIC OFFERINGS WERE EXPANDED TO INCLUDE ON-SITE CLASSES IN SONGWRITING AND COMPOSITION, AND A MUSIC AND ENGLISH LANGUAGE IMMERSION CREATED FOR ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNERS AT THE HIGH SCHOOL AND MIDDLE SCHOOLS GRADES. THE COMMUNITY MUSIC ACADEMY, WHICH PROVIDES TUITION-FREE INSTRUMENTAL AND GENERAL MUSIC INSTRUCTION TO COMMUNITY MEMBERS OF CYPRESS PARK AND SURROUNDING AREAS, AGES 5 THROUGH 18, EXPERIENCED AN OVER 40% INCREASE IN THE PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS, WHILE SIGNIFICANTLY EXPANDING THE NUMBER AND TYPE OF CLASSES OFFERED.
