MUSIC EDUCATION: THE SHEDD INSTITUTE OPERATES A YEAR-ROUND COMMUNITY MUSIC SCHOOL OFFERING PRIVATE LESSONS, MUSIC CLASSES, VACATION MUSIC, CAMPS, (MUSIC & WORLD CULTURES). THE SCHOOL SERVES 425-525 STUDENTS WEEKLY WITH PRIVATE LESSONS AND CLASSES. OUR ROAD SCHOLAR PROGRAM SERVES 200-250 SENIORS WITH MULTI-DAY 6 CULTURAL CAMPS EACH YEAR. OUR MUSIC & WORLD CULTURES PROGRAM PROVIDES CONCERTS TO 12-14 ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOLS ANNUALLY, REACHING 4,850+ STUDENTS. DURING THIS FINAL YEAR OF SERIOUS PANDEMIC RE-ENROLLMENT NUMBERS WERE DOWN TO 123-140 STUDENTS, SCHOOL PROGRAMS WERE SUSPENDED AND ROAD SCHOLAR PROGRAMS WERE MINIMAL.
THE SHEDD INSTITUTE OWNS AND OPERATES A COMMUNITY-BASED PERFORMING AND CULTURAL ARTS FACILITY FOR THE PURPOSE OF CREATING AND SUPPORTING SPACES FOR ACCESSIBLE AND DIVERSE ARTS, CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES IN OUR COMMUNITY. TOTAL SERVED: APPROXIMATELY 45,000.
