2020 TOURNAMENT OF THE ANDREW JAMES LAWSON BASKETBALL INVITATIONAL. 2020 WAS THE SECOND ANNUAL HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT HELD AT THE BOSTON GARDEN. 18 HIGH SCHOOL TEAMS WERE INVITED TO PLAY A REGULATION BASKETBALL GAME. DURING EACH GAME, VIDEOS ON THE BENEFITS OF INCLUSION WERE PLAYED ON THE JUMBO-TRON. MANY OF THE VIDEOS WERE CREATED BY THE STUDENTS. UNIFIED SPORTS IN HIGH SCHOOLS IS ALSO A PRIMARY FOCUS OF THIS EVENT.
1. COLLEGE GRANTS OF $1,000 EACH TO THREE DESERVING HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS WHO HAVE DEMONSTRATED AN INTEREST OR CAREER IN FOSTERING THE INTEREST OF INCLUSION OF PEOPLE WITH IDD. 2. $1,000 CHARITABLE CONTRIBUTION TO THE ARC OF MASSACHUSETTS
ESTABLISHMENT OF AN INCLUSION PROGRAM WITH LOCAL HIGH SCHOOLS TO OFFER TRAINING AND ESTABLISH RELATIONSHIP WITH MERGE, WHICH IS A DIVERSE ABILITIES INCLUSION CONSULTING FIRM. IN 2019 THE FOUNDATION RECEIVED A GRANT TO PROMOTE AND CREATE INCLUSION AND INCREASE AWARENESS AND EDUCATION FOR INCLUSIVE OPPORTUNITIES AND IN EARLY 2020 THE FIRST INCLUSION PROGRAM WAS LAUNCHED. THIS PROGRAM WILL BE EXPANDED IN 2021.
