IN 2019, THE ORANIZATION ESTABLISHED A SCHOLARSHIP FUND FOR CURRENT AND FORMER MEMBERS OF THE USS WICHITA. THE SCHOLARSHIPS WILL BE AWARDED BY THE SCHOLARSHIP SELECTION COMMITTEE. SCHOLARSHIP GRANTS MAY BE MADE FOR BOOKS, TUITION, ITEMS SUCH AS COMPUTERS AND LAPTOPS NEEDED FOR A CLASS OR STUDY WORK AS WELL AS OTHER EXPENSES THAT THE COMMITTEE DEEMS APPROPRIATE TO FURTHER THE EDUCATION AND CAREERS OF CREW MEMBERS. THE ORGANIZATION EXPECTS TO AWARD THE FIRST SCHOLARSHIPS IN 2021. SCHOLARSHIPS WILL BE AWARDED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM GUIDELINES DOCUMENT ADOPTED BY THE ORGANIZATION'S BOARD OF DIRECTORS. A COPY OF THE DOCUMENT IS AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST.
