OUR PRIMARY FOCUS IS STATE AND FEDERAL GOVERNMENT RELATIONS AND ADVOCACY EFFORTS ON BEHALF OF OUR MEMBERS. WE WORK DILIGENTLY WITH IDAHO'S CONGRESSIONAL DELEGATION, THE AMERICAN HOSPITAL ASSOCIATION, THE IDAHO LEGISLATURE, AND OTHER HEALTH CARE ASSOCIATIONS TO INFLUENCE HEALTH CARE RELATED ISSUES ON BEHALF OF OUR MEMBERSHIP. A FEDERAL GRANT PROVIDED FUNDING TO BE DISTRIBUTED TO HOSPITALS FOR THE PURPOSES OF TRAINING STAFF TO IMPLEMENT EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS PLANS, PROCURE SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH CDC, RAMP UP INFECTION CONTROL AND TRIAGE TRAINING, RETROFIT SEPARATE AREAS FOR SCREENING AND TREATMENT OF COVID-19, EXPAND TELEMEDICINE, AND INCREASE THE NUMBERS OF PATIENT CARE BEDS TO PROVIDE SURGE CAPACITY USING ALTERNATE CARE SITES.
A STATE CANCER REGISTRY COLLECTED AND ANALYZED DATA ON ALL INCIDENTS OF CANCER IN IDAHO FOR EDUCATION, RESEARCH, AND PUBLIC HEALTH CONCERNS. A FEDERAL GRANT AND A NEW FEDERAL CONTRACT IMPROVED THE QUALITY, TIMELINESS & COMPLETENESS OF CANCER DATA COLLECTION IN IDAHO WITH AN INCREASED EMPHASIS ON USING DATA FOR RESEARCH. HOSPITALS RECEIVED DATA, EDUCATION & TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO IMPROVE SERVICE DELIVERY. A STATE TSE REGISTRY COLLECTED AND ANALYZED REPORTABLE CASES AND EVALUATED THE HEALTH SYSTEM'S RESPONSES TO TIME-SENSITIVE ENCOUNTERS. A STATE GRANT PROVIDED DATABASE PLANNING, IMPLEMENTATION, AND MANAGEMENT OF A TIME SENSITIVE EVENT REGISTRY IN IDAHO WHICH NOW INCLUDES TRAUMA, STROKE, AND HEART ATTACK INCIDENTS. IDAHO HOSPITALS RECEIVED EDUCATION AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO IMPROVE QUALITY OF CARE.
IHA ALSO PROVIDES MEMBERS SERVICES SUCH AS CONSULTATION ON MATTERS SUCH AS PHYSICIAN RELATIONS AND HOSPITAL LAW, GROUP UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION PROGRAM, QUALITY AND PATIENT SAFETY, WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT, EDUCATION PROGRAMS, DATA COLLECTION AND INTERPRETATION, AND OTHER MEMBER SERVICES.
