THE PROGRAM IS CURRENTLY CONTRACTED FOR 12 TO 60-MONTH PERIODS TO 37 VARIOUS HOSPITALS AND CLINICS IN WASHINGTON, ALASKA, OREGON, HAWAII, AND GUAM. THESE CONTRACTS ARE TO PROVIDE RADIATION ONCOLOGY PHYSICS SERVICES FOR THEIR PATIENTS. THE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM SUPPORTS A MEDICAL PHYSICS RESIDENT, AN APPLIED PHYSICS TECHNOLOGIST, AND 2 SUMMER INTERNS. ADDITIONALLY, OUTREACH TO LOCAL HIGH SCHOOLS HAS BEEN PROVIDED TO PROMOTE MEDICAL PHYSICS AS A CAREER OPTION, AS WELL AS TEACHING A COURSE IN MEDICAL PHYSICS AT CENTRAL WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY (ELLENSBURG WA).
