THE MISSION OF CHAMBER MUSIC AMICI IS TO PRODUCE EXCELLENT, AFFORDABLE CHAMBER MUSIC CONCERTS WITH APPEAL TO ALL AGES. OUR MOTTO IS "CREATING COMMUNITY THROUGH GREAT MUSIC." ACTIVITIES WILL ALSO INCLUDE EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH TO THE LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICTS AND STUDENT ARTS ORGANIZATIONS TO PROMOTE THE DEVELOPMENT OF A NEW GENERATION OF CHAMBER MUSIC LOVERS.

OUR 14TH SEASON INCLUDED A TOAL OF 19 CONCERTS: 5 AT CASCADE MANOR: 10 AT THE WILDISH COMMUNITY THEATER; AND 4 AT MT. PISGAH ARBORETUM'S WHITE OAK PAVILION. OPERATIONS SEEM TO BE MORE OR LESS BACK TO PRE-PANDEMIC LEVELS. WE HIRED DR. TERRY MCQUILKIN TO BOTH COMPOSE OUR PROGRAM NOTES AS WELL AS GIVE PRE-CONCERT TALKS BEFORE EACH CONCERT (10 TALKS DURING THE YEAR). THIS SEASON WE WERE GRANTED FUNDS TO BE ABLE TO OFFER ADULTS THAT ACCOMPANY STUDENTS 5 TICKETS AS WELL AND ASKED LOCAL BUSINESSES TO DONATE DISCOUNT COUPONS TO FAMILIES WHO ATTENDED CONCERTS ALLOWING FAMILIES AN AFFORDABLE OUTING OF MUSIC AND A MEAL FOR THE FAMILY. OVER OUR 10 CONCERTS AT THE WCT OVER 30 FAMILIES TOOK ADVANTAGE OF THIS OFFER.
ART CONTESTS- FOR THE SECOND SEASON IN A ROW, OUR ART CONTEST HAS COMMISSIONED AN OREGON ARTIST TO CREATE THREE NEW WORKS OF ART FOR AMICI TO USE FOR MARKETING PURPOSES THE FOLLOWING YEAR. THE ARTIST IS ALSO GRANTING CMA THE USE OF TWO EXISTING WORKS OF ART ALONG WITH THE THREE NEW PIECES. FOR THE 14TH SEASON, WE HELD OUR ART SHOW AND RECEPTION AT THE EMERALD ART CENTER IN SPRINGFIELD. THE RECEPTION OPENING WAS HELD IN TANDEM WITH THE CITY OF SPRINGFIELD'S SECOND FRIDAY ARTWALK. A MUSIC PROGRAM WAS PROVIDED BY THE WILLAMETTE VALLEY VIOLIN ACADEMY.
EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH. DURING OUR 2022-2023 SEASON WE PARTICIAPTED IN A NEW PROGRAM. WE PARTNERED WITH THE EUGENE 4J SCHOOL DISTRICT'S B.E.S.T. PROGRAM, PROVIDING ENRICHMENT CLASSES TO STUDENTS ON DIFFERENT MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS OVER 2 5-WEEK SESSIONS, ONE IN THE FALL AND ONE IN THE SPRING. WE ALSO ADDED THE ARTS AND TECHNOLOGY ACADEMY IN EUGENE TO OUR LIST OF SCHOOLS PARTICIPATING IN OUR FREE ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH WE PERFORMED FOUR OUTDOOR CONCERTS AT MT. PISGAH ARBORETUM DURING OUR SUMMER SERIES: JULY 26 & 27 AND AUGUST 30 & 31. FREE LAWN SEATING WAS OFFERED TO THOSE WHO PREREGISTERED. INDOOR SEATING WAS OFFERED AT 35, 5 FOR STUDENTS. CMA CONTINUED TO OFFER FREE CONCERTS AT CASCADE MANOR SATURDAYS BEFORE OUR WILDISH THEATER CONCERTS.
