TO EMPOWER PARENTS OF LATE-TALKING CHILDREN THROUGH EDUCATION AND INFORMATION AND THE REALIZATION THAT THEY ARE EXTREMELY CAPABLE AND NOT ALONE.

PROVIDE INFORMATION: FAMILIES RECEIVE INFORMATION TO ENHANCE SPEECH AND LANGUAGE ACQUISITION FOR LATE-TALKING CHILDREN THAT REQUIRE SUPPORT SERVICES. FAMILY MEMBERS CONTACT THE ORGANIZATION VIA PHONE OR EMAIL. THE ORGANIZATION ADDRESSES THEIR CONCERNS AND QUESTIONS REGARDING LATE-TALKING IN CHILDREN. DURING THIS FISCAL YEAR, VOLUNTEERS FIELDED MORE THAN 110 PHONE CALLS AND RESPONDED TO MORE THAN 140 E-MAILS FROM FAMILIES. INFORMATION IS ALSO AVAILABLE VIA THE ORGANIZATION'S WEBSITE AND ASSOCIATED DIGITAL MEDIA RESOURCES. THESE ACTIVITIES CURRENTLY COMPRISE APPROXIMATELY 50% OF THE ORGANIZATION'S ACTIVITY.


COUNSELING AND ADVOCACY: ACTIVITIES INCLUDE WORKING WITH PARENTS, EDUCATORS, AND THERAPISTS TO DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT INTERVENTION PLANS, DISCUSS OPTIONS, AND TO ANALYZE AND CONFER ON PROGRESS REPORTS. DURING THIS FISCAL YEAR, ORGANIZATION VOLUNTEERS PROVIDED 250 HOURS OF PRO BONO IEP CONSULTATION. THESE ACTIVITIES CURRENTLY COMPRISE APPROXIMATELY 50% OF THE ORGANIZATION'S ACTIVITY.
