LEARNING DIFFICULTIES AND ALABAMA. WHILE THERE IS A WEALTH OF LEARNING CENTERS IN THE COMMUNITY, CURRENTLY THERE IS A DEFICIT AND AVAILABLE RESOURCES WHICH SPECIFICALLY ADDRESS NEURO-DEVELOPMENTAL LEARNING DEFICITS (SUCH AS DYSLEXIA). AGC IS A TRANSDISCIPLINARY CENTER STAFFED BY BOTH MEDICAL AND EDUCATIONAL PROFESSIONALS WHO ARE COMMITTED TO EARLY IDENTIFICATION, APPROPRIATE REMEDIATION, ASSISTANCE AND ADVOCACY FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS WHO ARE AFFECTED BY SUCH LEARNING DISABILITIES. ONCE A DISABILITY HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED, PARENTS AND STUDENTS ARE OFFERED EDUCATION REGARDING THE DIAGNOSIS, OPTIONS FOR INTERVENTION AS WELL AS INFORMATION REGARDING APPROPRIATE RESOURCES FOR THE LEARNING CHALLENGES AHEAD. THEY ARE OFFERED A NEURO-DEVELOPMENTAL INTERVENTION THROUGH THE CENTER. AGC ALSO PROVIDES COMMUNITY LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES, PARENT SUPPORT GROUPS AND SIMULATION EXPERIENCES. AGC'S GOAL IS A FULLY EQUIPPED PARENTS AND STUDENTS TO BECOME INFORMED ADVOCATES.
