TO SERVE AS A POWERFUL ADVOCATE FOR PROTECTING AND RESTORING THE SURFACE WATERS AND GROUNDWATER IN TETON COUNTY, WYOMING.

EDUCATION AND OUTREACHPOWJH PROVIDED PLACE-BASED WATERSHED SCIENCE LESSONS FOR OVER 300 6TH GRADERS AT JACKSON HOLE MIDDLE SCHOOL AND OVER 100 MIXED-GRADE STUDENTS AT JACKSON HOLE HIGH SCHOOL. BOTH MIDDLE- AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS GOT TO USE MICROSCOPES TO IDENTIFY ALGAE AND OTHER MICROSCOPIC AQUATIC LIFE. THE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ALSO HELPED DELIVER A DRINKING WATER TESTING OUTREACH PROGRAM FOR TETON COUNTY RESIDENTS WHO RELY ON A PRIVATE WELL. POWJH HOSTED OUR SECOND RALLY FOR CLEAN WATER EVENT WITH A GUEST SPEAKER WITH OVER 200 COMMUNITY MEMBER ATTENDEES. POWJH ALSO HOSTED THE WATER SYMPOSIUM JACKSON HOLE WITH OVER 100 ATTENDEES AND REGIONAL EXPERTS FROM THE FIELDS OF INFRASTRUCTURE FINANCE, WASTEWATER MANAGEMENT, AND POLLUTION CONTROL.


COLLABORATIVE SOLUTIONSPOWJH CONTINUED TO HELP DEVELOP THE TETON COUNTY WATER QUALITY MANAGEMENT PLAN, ALONGSIDE PUBLIC STAKEHOLDERS AND STAFF FROM TETON CONSERVATION DISTRICT, THE TOWN OF JACKSON, TETON COUNTY, FLITNER STRATEGIES, AND TRIHYDRO CORPORATION. POWJH OFFICIALLY JOINED THE NEWLY-FORMED SNAKE RIVER HEADWATERS WATERSHED GROUP; A GRASSROOTS COLLECTION OF INDIVIDUALS, BUSINESSES, ORGANIZATIONS AND AGENCIES WORKING TO BETTER MANAGE WATER QUALITY AND QUANTITY ISSUES RELATED TO THE UPPER SNAKE RIVER.


RESEARCH AND MONITORINGPOWJH FACILITATED THE CONTINUOUS, WEEKLY, AND MONTHLY SAMPLING FOR WATER QUALITY DATA ON THE SNAKE RIVER, FISH CREEK, AND FLAT CREEK. THIS WORK WAS CARRIED OUT IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE UNITED STATES GEOLOGICAL SURVEY, TETON COUNTY, AND ALDER ENVIRONMENTAL LLC WITH FUNDING FROM MULTIPLE PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS.
