MACV PROVIDED COMPREHENSIVE SERVICES TO 2,654 VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES ACROSS MINNESOTA WHO WERE HOMELESS OR AT RISK OF HOMELESSNESS IN 2023. THESE SERVICES ARE FOCUSED IN PROGRAM AREAS OF HOUSING, EMPLOYMENT, AND LEGAL SERVICES AIMED TO HELP THOSE WE SERVE ACHIEVE LONG-TERM HOUSING STABILITY.HOUSING:MACV PROVIDES CASE MANAGEMENT AND DIRECT FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE SERVICES FOR VETERANS THROUGHOUT MINNESOTA. MACV OWNS AND OPERATES OVER 200 UNITS OF TRANSITIONAL AND PERMANENT SUPPORTIVE HOUSING THROUGHOUT MINNESOTA. DURING 2023, MACV AQUIRED NEW MULTI-FAMILY HOUSING PROPERTIES WITH STATE OF MINNESOTA AND PHILANTHROPIC SUPPORT. MACV DEVELOPED TWO NEW GOVERNMENT-FUNDED HOUSING SUBSIDY PROGRAMS TO SUPPORT LONG-TERM HOUSING AFFORDABILITY AND SERVICES NEEDS. ADDITIONAL SERVICES ARE FOCUSED ON LANDLORD ENGAGEMENT, JUSTICE-INVOLVED VETERAN SERVICES, AND HEALTHCARE NAVIGATION TO SUPPORT VETERANS WITH SPECIFIC NEEDS AND BARRIERS IN ACHEIVING HOUSING STABILITY.
LEGAL: MACV DELIVERS LEGAL SERVICES TO VETERANS WHO ARE HOMELESS OR AT RISK OF HOMELESSNESS THROUGH ITS VETLAW PROGRAM FOCUSED ON SUPPORTING OVERCOMING LEGAL BARRIERS TO HOUSING STABILITY. MACV ATTORNEYS AND VOLUNTEER LAWYERS PROVIDED ADVICE AND COUNSEL DIRECTLY TO 958 VETERANS SEEKING ASSISTANCE WITH OVER 1,067 LEGAL MATTERS IN 2023.
OUTREACH: MACV TOOK STEPS TO FURTHER ESTABLISH SEVERAL SPECIALIZED SERVICES AND PROGRAMS DURING 2023 TO ADVANCE OUR EFFORTS TO MEET NEEDS OF VETERANS THAT ARE FOUNDATION TO LONG-TERM HOUSING STABILITY. SPECIFIC PROGRAMS INCLUDE HEALTHCARE NAVIGATION, JUSTICE INVOLVED VETERAN SERVICES, LANDLORD ENGAGEMENT, AND STREET AND SHELTER OUTREACH.
EMPLOYMENT: MACV OPERATES A STATEWIDE EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM AIMED AT SUPPORTING VETERANS IN FINDING MEANINGFUL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES AND VOCATION-SPECIFIC TRAINING THAT SUPPORT THEIR LONG-TERM HOUSING STABILITY.
