WIOA PROGRAMS:ADULT PROGRAMS-WCI PROVIDES EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING SERVICES UNDER TITLE 1 OF THE WORKFORCE INNOVATION AND OPPORTUNITY ACT (WIOA) INCLUDING ADULT AND DISLOCATED WORKER GRANTS. THROUGH THESE GRANTS JOB SEEKERS UNDERGO TRAINING AND CAREER PLANNING TO ACHIEVE ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY. FOR THE LAST 20 YEARS, THE ORGANIZATION HAS MET OR EXCEEDED ALL STATE PERFORMANCE STANDARDS FOR THE PROGRAM, AND RECENTLY LOCAL STANDARDS HAVE BEEN INCLUDED, AND ARE BEING MET. DISLOCATED WORKER PROGRAMS-WCI PROVIDE EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING SERVICES UNDER TITLE 1 OF THE WORKFORCE INNOVATION AND OPPORTUNITY ACT INCLUDING ADULT AND DISLOCATED WORKER GRANTS. WISCONSIN WORKS (W-2) ASSISTS INDIVIDUALS IN MEETING HIS/HER EMPLOYMENT & CAREER GOALS. INDIVIDUALIZED SERVICES ARE PROVIDED TO EACH PARTICIPANT THROUGH WORKFORCE CONNECTIONS STAFF, PARTNER AGENCIES, AND WISCONSIN JOB CENTERS. EACH PARTICIPANT RECEIVES THE HELP THEY NEED TO DEVELOP CLEAR EMPLOYMENT GOALS AND THE GUIDANCE AND SUPPORT NEEDED TO EXPERIENCE EMPLOYMENT SUCCESS.
OTHER PROGRAMS:THE FOODSHARE EMPLOYMENT & TRAINING (FSET) PROGRAM IS A NO-COST PROGRAM THAT HELPS FOOD SHARE RECIPIENTS BUILD THEIR JOB SKILLS AND FIND EMPLOYMENT. ADULTS NEEDING TO MEET THE WORK REQUIREMENT CAN PARTICIPATE IN FSET TO CONTINUE TO RECEIVE FOOD SHARE BENEFITS. FOSTER GRANDPARENT PROGRAM- THE FOSTER GRANDPARENT PROGRAM PLACES ADULT VOLUNTEERS 55 AND OLDER IN SCHOOLS TO SERVE AS ROLE MODELS, TUTORS, AND FRIENDS TO CHILDREN WITH EXCEPTIONAL NEEDS WHO WOULD BENEFIT FROM THE ONE-ON-ONE ATTENTION A FOSTER GRANDPARENT CAN OFFER. THE PROGRAM PROVIDES A WAY FOR VOLUNTEERS TO STAY ACTIVE BY TUTORING CHILDREN IN READING AND MATH.THE WISCONSIN SENIOR EMPLOYMENT (WISE/ TITLE- V) PROGRAM PROVIDES OLDER ADULTS, AGE 55 AND OLDER, WITH TRAINING AND PART-TIME, PAID WORK EXPERIENCE IN COMMUNITY SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS. THE ON-THE-JOB EXPERIENCE HELPS TO DEVELOP AND IMPROVE SKILLS NECESSARY FOR PERMANENT EMPLOYMENT.
