IN 2021, CITIZENS LEAGUE ENGAGED PEOPLE OF MINNESOTA IN UNDERSTANDING POLICY ISSUES AND SHAPING SOLUTIONS. IN PARTICULAR WE WORKED TO BRING FORWARD PERSPECTIVES AND EXPERTISE OF PEOPLE MOST IMPACTED BY POLICY ISSUES. WE ACCOMPLISHED THIS THROUGH PUBLIC EDUCATIONAL EVENTS INCLUDING THE MIND OPENER SERIES; POLICY INITIATIVES INCLUDING TWO IN-DEPTH PUBLIC SAFETY PROJECTS; AND LEADERSHIP PROGRAMMING. THE CAPITOL PATHWAYS PROGRAM COMPLETED ITS 6TH YEAR PROVIDING PAID INTERNSHIPS FOR APPROX. 30 STUDENTS OF COLOR AT THE STATE LEGISLATURE, MAKING MINNESOTA'S GOVERNMENT MORE REPRESENTATIVE OF THE STATE'S POPULATION.
