THE ORGANIZATION IS BASED IN OZAUKEE COUNTY, WI AND ESTABLISHED IN 1965. PORTAL INC. CONTINUES TO PROVIDE PROGRESSIVE SERVICE TO ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES. SERVING MORE THAN 200 INDIVIDUALS EVERY YEAR, THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES SERVICES AND SUPPORTS THAT RESPOND TO EACH INDIVIDUAL'S PERSONAL NEEDS, INTERESTS AND GOALS. SERVICES FOCUS ON SOCIAL AND LIFE SKILLS DEVELOPMENT, PERSONAL INDEPENDENCE, PROMOTING SELF-ADVOCACY, COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT, SEEKING AND MAINTAINING EMPLOYMENT. A PROGRAM OF ART AND RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES IS AVAILABLE IN THE EVENINGS AND ON WEEKENDS, STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS PROVIDE THE NECESSARY TRANSPORTATION, SKILL DEVELOPMENT TRAINING, SUPPORT AND SUPERVISION.
