THE COMMISSION ON REHABILITATION COUNSELOR CERTIFICATION (CRCC) SETS THE STANDARD FOR QUALITY REHABILITATION COUNSELING SERVICES THROUGH ITS INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNIZED CERTIFICATION PROGRAM. THE CERTIFIED REHABILITATION COUNSELOR (CRC) DESIGNATION INDICATES A HIGHER LEVEL OF SPECIALIZED EDUCATION AND TRAINING, A THOROUGH UNDERSTANDING OF KEY COMPETENCY STANDARDS BASED ON CURRENT PRACTICES IN THE FIELD, ADHERENCE TO THE CODE OF PROFESSIONAL ETHICS FOR REHABILITATION COUNSELORS, AND AN ONGOING COMMITMENT TO CONTINUING EDUCATION. DURING THE TAX YEAR THERE WERE 1,113 INDIVIDUALS WHO SAT FOR THE EXAM AND 2,139 CERTIFICATION RENEWALS.
CRCC ENCOURAGES ALL CERTIFICANTS TO BE LIFELONG LEARNERS THROUGH CONTINUING EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. CRCC E-UNIVERSITY CREATES OPPORTUNITIES FOR CERTIFICANTS AND REHABILITATION PROFESSIONALS TO EXPLORE NEW KNOWLEDGE IN SPECIFIC CONTENT AREAS, MASTER NEW REHABILITATION COUNSELING-RELATED SKILLS AND TECHNIQUES, REFINE PROFESSIONAL JUDGEMENT, AND CONDUCT PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE IN AN ETHICAL AND APPROPRIATE MANNER. CRCC E-UNIVERSITY COURSE CATALOG OFFERS A WIDE VARIETY OF COURSES FOR CONTINUING EDUCATION AND KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS ADVANCEMENT. DURING THE TAX YEAR E-UNVERISTY OFFERED APPROXIMATELY 1,677 COURSES.
CRCC REVITALIZED THE NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED CERTIFIED VOCATIONAL EVALUATION SPECIALIST (CVE) CERTIFICATION PROGRAM. THIS OFFERING FURTHERS CRCC'S MISSION TO INCREASE SERVICES TO INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES. THE PURPOSE OF THE CVE CERTIFICATION IS TO ASSIST IN THE ASSURANCE THAT PROFESSIONALS ENGAGED IN VOCATIONAL EVALUATION MEET ACCEPTABLE STANDARDS OF QUALITY IN PRACTICE.
