LHCC IS DEDICATED TO THE PROMOTION OF HEALTHCARE AND HAVE COME TOGETHER TO BRING THEIR RESOURCES AND EXPERTISE TO THIS ORGANIZATION, WHICH IS DEDICATED TO A) PROMOTING HEALTHCARE FOR SENIORS, B) PROMOTING LOUISVILLE AND JEFFERSON COUNTY, KENTUCKY, AS AMERICA'S "HEALTHCARE AGING INNOVATION CAPITOL" (THE COUNTRY'S LARGEST CLUSTER OF AGING INNOVATION BUSINESSES), C) PROMOTING ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN THE REGION AND STATE, INCLUDING THROUGH EMPLOYMENT, AND ENTREPRENEURIAL OPPORTUNITIES D) SOLVE NATIONAL HEALTHCARE CHALLENGES RELATED TO AN AGING DEMOGRAPHIC.

IN LHCC'S EFFORTS TO STIMULATE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AROUND LOUISVILLE'S STRENGTH IN THE HEALTHCARE AGING INNOVATION SECTOR LHCC HOSTED AN ARRAY OF EVENTS. 1) THE LHCC 2021 AGING INNOVATION GLOBAL HEALTHCARE SUMMIT WAS LAUNCHED TO HIGHLIGHT SYSTEMS-LEVEL APPROACHES TO INNOVATION IN HEALTHCARE, PARTICULARLY THOSE RELEVANT IN PREPARING OUR HEALTHCARE SYSTEM TO ACCOMODATE AN INCREASING OLDER ADULT DEMOGRAPHIC. OUR 2021 FOCUS WAS ON PATIENT ENGEGMENT AND EDUCATION. LHCC COMPLETED DISCOVERY LABS WITHIN EACH OF ITS COUNCIL MEMBER COMPANIES TO UNCOVER GAPS AND HEALTHCARE CHALLENGES RELATED TO PATIENT ENGAGEMNT AND EDUCATION. THESE FINDINGS FROM OUR DISCOVERY LABS HELPED SHAPE THE AGENDA WHERE LHCC CEOS AND THOUGHT LEADERS DISCUSSED VIA KEYNOTES AND PANEL SESSIONS. ATTENDEES INCLUDED HEALTHCARE THOUGHT LEADERS INNOVATORS, C-LEVEL EXECUTIVES AND VENTURE CAPITALISTS. 2) THE CARETECH PITCH COMPETITION MARKED THE CULMINATION OF LHCC AND AGING2.0'S GLOBAL INNOVATION SEARCH FOR STARTUPS WITH PRODUCTS AND SERVICES FOR PATIENT ENGAGEMENT AND EDUCATION IN THE OLDER ADULT POPULATION, AN IMPORTANT CHALLENGE IDENTIFIED BY LHCC'S BOARD OF DIRECTORS. CARETECH RESULTED IN MEANINGFUL CONNECTIONS BETWEEN FOUNDERS, MENTORS, AND POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS, GENERATED POSITIVE MEDIA COVERAGE, AND WAS AN IMPORTANT TOOL TO SHOWCASE LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY AS A LEADER IN THIS INDUSTRY. WINNING COMPANY, BRIOCARE, A REVOLUTIONARY SENIOR CARE AND PATIENT ENGAGEMENT PLATFORM USING SMART VOICE TECHNOLOGY, IS IN PILOT DISCUSSIONS WITH LHCC'S MEMBER COMPANIES. 3) THE 2021 BRIDGING THE GAP VIRTUAL EVENT WAS HOSTED TO HIGHLIGHT THE PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN LHCC AND AGING2.0, A GLOBAL NETWORK OF INNOVATORS ON 6 CONTINENTS AND 130 CONTRIES. BRIDGING THE GAP FEATURED FIRESIDE CHATS AND PANEL DISCUSSIONS WITH HEALTHCARE CEOS AND LEADERSHIP TEAMS ALONGSIDE AGING2.0 LEADERSHIP TO PROVIDE INFORMATION ON TOOLS AVAILABLE TO INNOVATORS AS WELL AS EXCITING NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR COLLABORATION, ACCESS, AND GROWTH.
THE LOUISVILLE HEALTHCARE CEO COUNCIL AND AGING2.0 LAUNCHED THEIR STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP IN 2020 BY CO-HOSTING A GLOBAL INNOVATION SEARCH FOR SOLUTIONS THAT ADDRESS SOCIAL ISOLATION AND LONELINESS AMONG OLDER ADULTS. AGING2.0 IS AN INTERNATIONAL, INTERDISCIPLINARY, AND INTERGENERATIONAL COMMUNITY WITH A GLOBAL AUDIENCE OF OVER 40K+ PEOPLE ACROSS 31 COUNTRIES. THE VOLUNTEER-RUN CHAPTER NETWORK, WHICH SPANS OVER 130 CITIES, HAS HOSTED MORE THAN 1000 EVENTS AROUND THE WORLD. THE TOPIC OF SOCIAL DETERMINANTS OF HEALTH WAS IDENTIFIED INITIALLY THROUGH A 5-YEAR STRATEGIC ROADMAP SET BY THE LHCC BOARD OF DIRECTORS BUT LATER WAS NARROWED TO FOCUS ON SOCIAL ISOLATION AND LONELINESS DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC HITTING THE OLDER ADULT POPULATION THE HARDEST BY EXACERBATING THE ISSUE THROUGH SOCIAL DISTANCING. THIS STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP CONTINUED IN 2021 WITH THE TOPIC FOCUS OF PATIENT ENGAGEMENT AND EDUCATION WHERE THE GLOBAL INNOVATION SEARCH PROVIDED AN OPPORTUNITY FOR INNOVATORS AROUND THE WORLD TO SHOWCASE THEIR PRODUCT OR SERVICE AND COMPETE FOR INTERNATIONAL EXPOSURE.
