GOVERNMENT RELATIONS- IHA ADVOCATED FOR POLICY CHANGES ON BEHALF OF HOSPITALS AT BOTH THE STATE AND NATIONAL LEVELS. THIS INCLUDED HEALTH CARE REFORM INITIATIVES, MEDICARE AND MEDICAID PAYMENT, REGULATORY ISSUES, HEALTH CARE QUALITY ISSUES AND LABOR INCENTIVES.
INFORMATION CENTER- THE IHA INFORMATION CENTER SERVES THE INFORMATION NEEDS OF IOWA HOSPITALS AND HEALTH SYSTEMS, HEALTH CARE ORGANIZATIONS AND THE PUBLIC. THESE SERVICES INCLUDE HOSPITAL INPATIENT AND OUTPATIENT DISCHARGE DATA, DIMENSIONS DATA ANALYSIS SOFTWARE, PRICEPOINT DISCLOSING HOSPITAL CHARGES, HOSPITAL ECONOMIC IMPACT AND COMMUNITY BENEFIT STUDIES, UTILIZATION AND FINANCIAL DATA, SALARY SURVEY AND PERSONNEL INFORMATION AND QUALITY DATA SERVICES.
EDUCATION-MORE THAN 60 EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS INCLUDING SINGLE AND MULTI-DAY CONFERENCES AND WEBINARS WERE PROVIDED TO IHA MEMBER HOSPITALS. THE MAJORITY OF THESE SESSIONS INCLUDED LEARNING ON HEALTH CARE POLICY ISSUES, PREPARATION FOR AND IMPLEMENTATION OF REGULATORY CHANGES, LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING SPECIFIC TO THE ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF VARIOUS HOSPITAL DEPARTMENT LEADERS.
