OUR MISSION IS TO PROMOTE SOCIAL JUSTICE AND PUBLIC WELFARE THROUGH ADVOCACY AGAINST ALL FORMS OF DISCRIMINATION, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ADVOCACY FOR THE ERADICATION OF HOUSING DISCRIMINATION TO ASSURE EQUAL HOUSING OPPORTUNITY FOR ALL INDIVIDUALS.

1)IN THIS FY 2021 WE PROVIDED FAIR HOUSING AND TENANT/LANDLORD MEDIATION SERVICES TO THE CITIES OF EL CAJON, LA MESA, SANTEE, NATIONAL CITY, CHULA VISTA. 2)WE HAD ONE-TO-ONE COUNSELING WITH OVER A TWO-THOUSAND CLIENTS AND SERVED SEVERAL HUNDREDS MORE THROUGH WORKSHOPS AND EVENTS.3)WE HAVE PARTNERED WITH BALANCE AS OUR HUD INTERMEDIARY TO PROVIDE A FIRST-TIME HOME BUYERS PROGRAM FOR OUR SAN DIEGO COMMUNITIES. IN THIS PROCESS, WE HAVE SERVED OVER 95 CLIENTS TO SEEK OUR SERVICES. THERE WERE 2 CLIENTS WHOM WERE ABLE TO KEEP THEIR HOMES DUE TO OUR ASSISTANCE ADDRESSING FORECLOSURES. ONE CLIENT SAVED $76,000 AND THE OTHER SAVED $46,000.4)WE HAVE USED OUR HUD GRANTS TO EXPAND OUR SERVICES TO INCLUDE HOUSING TESTING AND FAIR HOUSING ENFORCEMENT. CURRENTLY, WE HAVE 2 PROGRAMS THAT PROVIDE THIS FOR THE ENTIRE REGION OF SAN DIEGO.5)WE PARTICIPATED ON A FEDERAL LEVEL WITH WORLD WITHOUT EXPLOITATION TO ADVOCATE FOR HUMAN TRAFFICKING LEGISLATION. 6)WE EXPANDED OUR OUTREACH SERVICES IN THE ENTIRE REGION OF SAN DIEGO TO ENCOURAGE THE REPORTING OF FAIR HOUSING DISCRIMINATION VIOLATIONS.7)WE HAVE FILED COMPLAINTS ON BEHALF OF OUR CLIENTS WITH THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF FAIR EMPLOYMENT AND HOUSING AND FEDERALLY WITH HUD.8)WE HAVE BEEN FISCAL AGENTS FOR SEVERAL ORGANIZATIONS THAT PROMOTE HUMAN RIGHTS AND WHO PROVIDE SERVICES FOR OUR VULNERABLE COMMUNITIES9)WE HAVE EXPANDED OUR SERVICES BY RECEIVING ADDITIONAL FUNDING TO CAPACITY BUILD ALL OF OUR PROGRAMS.10)WE HOSTED A MULTI-CULTURAL FAIR TO OFFER COMMUNITY RESOURCES WITH OVER 700 IN ATTENDANCE11)THE AGENCY HAD A SUCCESSFUL FAIR HOUSING SYMPOSIUM WITH OVER 100 PARTICIPANTS12)THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR SERVES AS A SAN DIEGO COMMISSIONER TO ADDRESS PUBLIC SAFETY IN OUR SAN DIEGO REGION
