CAUSA JUSTA::JUST CAUSE BUILDS GRASSROOTS POWER AND LEADERSHIP TO CREATE STRONG, EQUITABLE COMMUNITIES. WE BUILD BRIDGES OF SOLIDARITY BETWEEN WORKING CLASS COMMUNITIES OF COLOR THROUGH RIGHTS-BASED SERVICES, POLICY CAMPAIGNS, CIVIC ENGAGEMENT, AND DIRECT ACTION.

COMMUNITY RIGHTS CAMPAIGNS - WE ADVOCATED FOR COMMUNITY RIGHTS RATHER THAN INCREASED COMMUNITY POLICING WITH YOUTH AND AFRICAN AMERICAN RESIDENTS AND WORKED TO INCREASE PROTECTIONS FOR IMMIGRANTS INCLUDING SUPPORTING DIRECT ACTIONS, IMPLEMENTING EXISTING LAWS AND PROTECTIONS AND ADVOCATING FOR AN END TO GANG INJUNCTIONS IN SAN FRANCISCO AND AN INDEPENDENT AUDIT OF THE ALAMEDA COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE. WE ALSO CARRIED OUT A 2020 CENSUS OUTREACH PROJECT IN SAN FRANCISCO AND OAKLAND.
HOUSING, LAND AND DEVELOPMENT - WE PROVIDED DIRECT TENANTS RIGHTS SERVICES IN OAKLAND AND SAN FRANCISCO TO MORE THAN 1,500 TENANTS AND FAMILIES, AND ADVOCATED FOR STRENGTHENED TENANT RIGHTS AND PROTECTIONS THROUGH COMMUNITY ORGANIZING.
PURE AIR OAKLAND - CJJC TOOK ON PURE AIR OAKLAND AS A FISCAL PROJECT. PURE AIR OAKLAND PROVIDES AIR FILTERS TO COMMUNITY MEMBERS IN NEED THROUGHOUT THE CITY OF OAKLAND AND THE EAST BAY.
