SOCIAL AND EDUCATIONAL SERVICES FOR THE ELDERLY THROUGH A WIDE VARIETY OF PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES. THE CENTER ALSO PROVIDES AN ON-SITE SOCIAL WORKER TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL SUPPORT AND SERVICES.
CONGREGATE AND MEALS ON WHEELS MEAL PROGRAMS. THE CONGREGATE MEAL PROGRAM PROVIDES A DAILY HOT MEAL WHICH MEETS AT LEAST 1/3 OF THE RECOMMENDED DAILY ALLOWANCE FOR NUTRITION AS WELL AS THE SOCIAL VALUE OF JOINING OTHERS FOR HEALTHY EATING AND CONVERSATION. 10,387 MEALS WERE SERVED DURING THE YEAR. MEALS ON WHEELS PROGRAM BENEFITS APPROXIMATELY 165 HOMEBOUND INDIVIDUALS EACH DAY. DURING THE YEAR, APPROXIMATELY 200 VOLUNTEERS ASSISTED IN DELIVERING OVER 80,000 MEALS.
