TO GIVE CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS, SENIORS AND OTHERS THE OPPORTUNITY TO IMPROVE THEIR PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING THROUGH INTERACTION WITH SPECIALLY TRAINED MINIATURE HORSES.
"HEALING WITH HORSES" IS A WEEKLONG PROGRAM OF GROUP EQUINE-ASSISTED THERAPY SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED TO HELP VICTIMS OF MENTAL, PHYSICAL, AND/OR SEXUAL ABUSE. HELD AT THE LITTLE HOOVES FACILITY IN ORACLE, ARIZONA, THE PROGRAM SEEKS TO PROMOTE THE RECOVERY PROCESS BY CREATING A SAFE, NON-JUDGMENTAL SPACE IN WHICH PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPRESS THEIR NEEDS, FIND THEIR VOICE, REGAIN A SENSE OF TRUST, LEARN COPING SKILLS AND MORE FULLY APPRECIATE THEIR OWN SELF-WORTH.
