TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC RELATING TO CONSERVATION ISSUES OF IMPORTANCE IN JACKSON HOLE.

RESEARCH STAFF EVALUATED PROPOSALS FOR DEVELOPMENT AND PROPOSED CHANGES TO THE LAND DEVELOMENT REGULATIONS FOR TETON COUNTY AND THE TOWN OF JACKSON. THIS INCLUDED REVIEWING STAFF REPORTS FROM LOCAL PLANNING DEPARTMENTS AND ATTENDING MEETINGS TO PROVIDE PUBLIC INPUT ON THE PROPOSALS. ANALYSIS WAS DONE TO DETERMINE THE IMPACTS OF THE PROPOSALS ON OUR COMMUNITY. ANALYSIS WAS USED BOTH INTERNALLY AND TO EDUCATE CITIZENS ON LOCAL DEVELOPMENT ISSUES.


AWARD GRANTS STAFF EVALUATED VARIOUS LOCAL NONPROFITS FOR ELIGIBILITY TO RECEIVE GRANTS BASED ON ENTITY'S MISSION TO MAINTAIN THE UNIQUE COMMUNITY CHARACTER OF JACKSON HOLE, PROMOTE LAND USE REGULATIONS THAT ALLOW OUR ABUNDANT WILDLIFE TO FLOURISH, AND MINIMIZE HUMAN INTRUSION INTO THE FRAGILE LOCAL ENVIRONMENT WHILE RESPECTING PRIVATE PROERTY RIGHTS AND TO EDUCATE CITIZENS.


EDUCATION DISSEMINATED INFORMATION ON ISSUES THAT AFFECTED OUR COMMUNITY INCLUDING WRITING OPINION PIECES AND PLACING THEM IN OUR LOCAL NEWSPAPER. STAFF USED ANALYSIS FROM OUR RESEARCH TO PROVIDE INFORMATION TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC ON A NUMBER OF ISSUES IN OUR CORE AREA OF CONCERN - WHICH IS MAINTAINING THE RURAL CHARACTER OF THE JACKSON HOLE AREA. STAFF MET REGULARLY WITH INDIVIDUALS AND ORGANIZATIONS TO DISCUSS WHAT ISSUES CONCERNED THEM.


OUTREACH OUTREACH CONSISTED OF POSTING INFORMATION ON OUR WEBSITE AND OTHER SOCIAL MEDIA OUTLETS, AND BY ADVERTISEMENTS IN OUR LOCAL NEWSPAPERS. IN 2020, SAVE HISTORIC JACKSON HOLE WEIGHED IN ON LAND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS FOR DISTRICTS 3-6 AND SNOW KING MASTER PLAN, EXPRESSED OPPOSITION TO TRIBAL TRAILS CONNECTOR AND LODGING TAX RENEWAL, AND ADVOCATED FOR WILDLIFE AND HIGHER MITIGATION RATES FOR NEW DEVELOPMENT.
