PROGRAMMING AND CLASSES - AFL OPERATES A SINGULAR PERFORMANCE SPACE, THE THEATER AT THE FORT, LOCATED AT THE HISTORIC FORT BENJAMIN HARRISON. AS STEWARD OF THE THEATER AT THE FORT, AFL MAINTAINS A COMPREHENSIVE PROGRAMMING SCHEDULE FEATURING HUNDREDS OF EVENTS, PERFORMANCES, AND EXHIBITIONS IN THE CITY OF LAWRENCE. AFL'S SIGNATURE PROGRAMMING INITIATIVES AND EVENTS INCLUDE A FULL THEATER SEASON, FRIDAYS AT THE FORT CONCERT SERIES, PLEIN AIR IN THE PARK, VISUAL ARTS CLASSES, POET'S LAUREATE OF LAWRENCE, CHILDREN'S THEATRE FEST, FIESTA LATINA, SUMMER ART CAMP, TEA PARTY AT THE FORT, AND A MURDER MYSTERY DINNER


CULTURAL CAMPUS - AFL, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, WAS AWARDED A $5,851,969 GRANT FROM LILLY ENDOWMENT, INC. TO CREATE A CULTURAL CAMPUS AT FORT BENJAMIN HARRISON IN LAWRENCE, INDIANA. THE GRANT WAS AWARDED IN DECEMBER 2018 AND THE FUNDS WERE RECEIVED IN MARCH 2019. AFL IS THE MANAGEMENT AGENT AND WILL RECEIVE $75,000 PER YEAR TO OVERSEE ENHANCEMENTS AND APPLICABLE REPORTING TO THE CITY OF LAWRENCE AND LILLY ENDOWMENT, INC. AFTER THE CULTURAL CAMPUS RENOVATIONS, THE IMPROVEMENTS WILL BE MAINTAINED BY THE CITY OF LAWRENCE PARKS DEPARTMENT.
