FLOOD MITIGATION - FUNDS DONATED TO ADDRESS APRIL 2018 FLOOD EVENT EFFORTS AND THE IMPLEMENTATION AND DISTRIBUTION OF SUB-GRANTS FOR NORTH SHORE WATERSHED FLOOD MITIGATION FOR THE COUNTY OF KAUA'I. HALE HALAWAI 'OHANA O HANALEI WAS SELECTED THROUGH AN RFP PROCESS, TO MANAGE THE IMPLEMENTATION AND FINANCIAL DISTRIBUTION OF $7,285,000 FOR NORTH SHORE WATERSHED FLOOD MITIGATION SUB-GRANTS. THIS PROJECT IS INTENDED TO ULTIMATELY PRODUCE MULTIPLE SUB-GRANTS TO OTHER NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS SO THAT THOSE ORGANIZATIONS CAN CONDUCT MITIGATION PROJECTS WHICH REDUCE HARM FROM FUTURE FLOODING EVENTS THROUGH STRUCTURAL AND NONSTRUCTURAL ACTIONS, INTERVENTIONS AND INVESTMENTS.

FACILITY - BUILDING AND GROUNDS MAINTENANCE AND RENTAL FEES ALLOWING HALE HALAWAI 'OHANA O HANALEI TO CONTINUE TO SERVE THE NORTH SHORE COMMUNITY FROM ANAHOLA TO HA'ENA AS A COMMUNITY CENTER.
