OUR MISSION IS TO CREATE AND SUSTAIN A GATHERING PLACE FOR CULTURAL EDUCATION AND FOR COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND ACTIONS TO SUPPORT SOCIAL, CIVIC AND RECREATION EVENTS THAT PERPETUATE THE VALUE OF ALOHA AND THE BETTERMENT OF OUR COMMUNITY.

FLOOD MITIGATION - FUNDS DONATED TO ADDRESS APRIL 2018 FLOOD EVENT EFFORTS AND THE IMPLEMENTATION AND DISTRIBUTION OF SUB-GRANTS FOR NORTH SHORE WATERSHED FLOOD MITIGATION FOR THE COUNTY OF KAUA'I. HALE HALAWAI 'OHANA O HANALEI WAS SELECTED THROUGH AN RFP PROCESS, TO MANAGE THE IMPLEMENTATION AND FINANCIAL DISTRIBUTION OF $7,285,000 FOR NORTH SHORE WATERSHED FLOOD MITIGATION SUB-GRANTS. THIS PROJECT IS INTENDED TO ULTIMATELY PRODUCE MULTIPLE SUB-GRANTS TO OTHER NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS SO THAT THOSE ORGANIZATIONS CAN CONDUCT MITIGATION PROJECTS WHICH REDUCE HARM FROM FUTURE FLOODING EVENTS THROUGH STRUCTURAL AND NONSTRUCTURAL ACTIONS, INTERVENTIONS AND INVESTMENTS.


HOSTED 30 KEIKI CHILDREN AGES 5-17, FOR SUMMER AND WINTER PROGRAMS THAT INCLUDED HANDS-ON ART & CULTURAL AWARENESS PROJECTS, APPRECIATION OF DIVERSITY PROGRAMMING, LEARNING & PRACTICING HAWAIIAN VALUES & TRADITIONS, CULTURAL FIELD TRIPS AROUND THE ISLAND OF KAUAI, RECREATION FIELD TRIPS, AND DEMONSTRATION/PRESENTATION HOIKE OF WHAT THEY LEARNED.


FACILITY - BUILDING AND GROUNDS MAINTENANCE AND RENTAL FEES ALLOWING HALE HALAWAI 'OHANA O HANALEI TO CONTINUE TO SERVE THE NORTH SHORE COMMUNITY FROM ANAHOLA TO HA'ENA AS A COMMUNITY CENTER. ON AVERAGE WE SERVE APPROXIMATELY 10,000 PEOPLE PER YEAR, VISITORS AND LOCALS, THROUGH MULTIPLE PROGRAMS AND SERVICES INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAILY KEIKI PROGRAMS, WEEKLY FARMERS' MARKETS, WEEKLY HEALTH CLASSES, A CERTIFIED KITCHEN, A LEARNING CENTER AND MORE.
